In March 1967, a husband, wife and two young sons boarded the Lloyd Triestino ocean liner, Galileo Galilei, from Sydney (Australia) for a one month cruise to Messina (Italy) via the Indian Ocean and through the Suez Canal and into the Mediterranean Sea, for a once in a lifetime family reunion. Years later the Galileo was sold off and became the Sun Vista, which sank off the Malaysian coast in May 1999.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (CNN) -- Ferry boats, naval vessels and at least one cargo boat rushed to a sinking luxury liner early Friday and rescued more than 1,100 terrified passengers and crew. No fatalities were reported.
