This was taken off Nootka Lightstation in August 2007. We decided to do some training in 2 meter swells with our Zodiac Hurricane 733. This beautiful boat has 300 HP and incredible torque thanks to the twin Evinrude E-tec 150's.
This is my summer student job, providing search and rescue for the Canadian Coastguard. We work in teams of three placed in one of three stations of the rugged coastline of British Columbia. This year I was fortunate to be placed on Nootka Island, home of the historic Nootka Accord, and site of Captain Cooks first landing on the coast.
With two meter swell, and chop on top of that, it really is a game of throttle control! If you arent careful, there is a nice case of whiplash waiting for you :D.
This is my first video( and i realise it isnt very well edited, nor stable, but its hard to keep a head mounted camera stable when you have me as a pilot!) By the way, there is about 12 feet of bow infront of me, to give perspective.
